Do I need my own OpenAI or Anthropic account?
Yes. The assistant runs on your own Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI API key, so you pay your AI provider directly for the tokens you use. TalkingDot adds no fee per answer or per resolution.
How much does the AI chatbot cost?
Only what your AI provider charges for the tokens used. Every request is priced from the tokens and your model's price, Reports → AI answers shows the cost for any period, and monthly and per-conversation budgets cap it. See AI budgets & costs.
What happens when the AI doesn't know the answer?
It hands the conversation to your team instead of guessing, and the question shows up in your list of things it couldn't answer, so you can teach it.
Can the AI do things for customers?
Yes, with AI actions: it can look up invoices, orders and domains in WHMCS or WooCommerce, or call your own endpoints. Actions that change something wait for a teammate to approve them, and every run is logged.
